Velantine's special

DIY-Pop-Up-Love-Box
This DIY project is really nice and is easy to make and can be a great gift for birthday or when you want to make a surprise. You can even make this with your kids as they will surely have fun during the process. We will show you how to make a pop-up love box.
You will need:
  • a small box (we used a matchbox),
  • pieces of paper for lining the box,
  • scissors and glue,
  • pop-up dots or double-sided tape,
  • a strip of cardstock,
  • a paper heart or any other shape you would like to pop out from your box,
  • candy (you will place it inside the box, some packaging for the outside of the box.
Start by lining the inside of the box by taking the bottom of it and trace it on paper. Then just cut out your box and assemble it. Take the cardboard strip and fold it, this will make your shape pop out. Glue your heart to it and try to see how long the string needs to be in order to pop out. You can also create some little cards on which you can write something nice for the person you are giving the box. Then place everything in the box (including the little treats) and make sure there is plenty of space for everything. At the end pack everything up, and be careful not to damage the box. You can tie a colored ribbon around it if you want or leave it just the way it is, it will look cute either way.

Creative Recycling – Tutorial Using Plastic Bottle

diy-plastic
We’ve just came across some really nice material about how to make yourself new things by recycling. See for yourself how great it is to come up from waste material with a necessary thing that makes a wonderful organizer. So here are the steps for making one of your own. Use a tube of cardboard (large – from self-adhesive film, thin – from foil for baking). Cut it into pieces with a metal saw. This won’t be an easy job, but it’s worth it, we promise you. Then take a wooden cutting board in the shape of a circle. Use acrylic black paint from a container. The process of painting and drying took us a few days since it was necessary to carefully paint over everything twice. We also used the cardboard backing from a wide tape. When it is done, here you can put small objects (eraser, flash cards, etc.). Paint this too. We didn’t know at first what the final outline and decoration will be, try organizing it in different shapes to see which one you like best. We used the colors – copper, silver, red and gold, also acrylic paint. Below you can see the final line-up. The cat ornament inspired us to create the next design on the tubes. Then start making the bottom, it will be carved out of black cardboard circles. When it is dried just glue the bottom of these circles and the bottom of the cardboard and stick them together. After one day, apply the adhesive again, only at the very bottom to attach the tube to the round-cardboard basis. In the final step you can cover the whole with a top coat of transparent acrylic and that is all.

DIY Velantine decore

Valentines-decorations-home-design
This year for Valentine’s Day you should do something special and decorate the entire house with Valentine’s decorations. You can find a lot of pretty decorations. Will create a nice and romantic atmosphere in your home. For instance you can decorate your dining table with mason jars that can be filled with small hearts. You can also place sticks with heart shapes at the end in these jar (if you want to make these sticks yourself, there is a great tutorial on this website that shows you how). You can print some cards that look just like love letters and place them around the table or near your loved ones plate. There are a lot of other great things you can find at the Dollar Tree, such as wooden candle holders that can be filled with red hot, heart shaped rocks and even the sticks with a heart shape on their end. This way you’ll create a romantic lighting for dinner. And finally, in order to transform your apartment completely for Valentine’s Day, you must not forget about foam hearts, that can be placed on a thread and hanged all over the room.

make Macaron Coin Purse

Macaron-Coin-Purse
Macarons are so trendy right now. The hype has gone to such extents that people spend a lot of money on just a pack with only a few of these pieces of dessert-snacks in it. We don’t question its price-quality report. Our suggestion is you take advantage of the trend and make some lovely coin purses in the shape of a macaron. The resulting storage space is not that big, but it’s perfect for keeping a ring or bracelet. Alternatively, you can give it the function of a key chain, or a cosmetic mirror. Play with the colors of the fabric and make one to match your every outfit. Either way, in order to make a piece of this DIY cuteness, you will need the following:
Macaron-Coin-Purse-1
• two pairs of one inch and a half diameter cover buttons;
• a piece of five and a half by three inches polka-dot fabric;
• a couple of sewing kits;
• a half an inch by three inches lining;
• one inch and a half by one inch and a half zipper seam binder;
• four by two inches of batting;
• five inches zipper;
• two and three quarters inches circle of cardstock;
• a pencil and fabric marker;
• two inches circle of cardstock;
• three eights by two inches of ribbon;
• a wire cutter;
• a pair of scissors;
• some fabric glue;
Macaron-Coin-Purse-2
Prepare all the materials and start making the purse. Start by sewing the zipper together at the two tops. Sew the ribbon on the bottom of the zipper. Fold the fabric in half as you will be sewing it to the zipper. Make a ring out of the zipper and sew the two ends together, adding the piece of fabric too as shown in the picture. Turn the zipper with the right side out. Make some stitches so the edges of the zipper will look as those in the picture. Cut the button studs and cover them with fabric. Cut rounded shapes and cover the buttons with glue. Make some stitches at the edge of the fabric and cover the button with the whole piece of fabric. Repeat the process until you get have 2 buttons covered. Stitch the zipper to the two buttons to join them. You coin purse is done. It is quite a small purse but it looks really cute and it will be ideal for your coins.
Also you can buy a Macaron Coin Purse Kit from Etsy for 9$

Make DIY Glass Tile Pendants for urself

photo-pendants
Maybe you've seen this type of jewellery or accessory around for a while, and noticed many people bragging with them around their necks. And maybe you've thought they are difficult to fashion and you would also want to have a bunch of these at home. Actually, they are very simple to make and thanks to this website, you will learn exactly how easy. First, grab the following items:
• a black and white small photo;
• white card stock;
• bails;
• glass tiles (from any craft store);
• a simple chain;
• some super glue;
• diamond glaze;
• a small brush;
Begin with pouring just a bit of the glaze on the tile and spreading it with the brush. Immediately after this, take the small photo you printed out on a card stock to the appropriate size, and press it facing downward onto the tile. Leave to dry for a couple of minutes and spread with the brush another tiny drop of glaze onto the photo’s backside. After a couple of hours of drying, add the bail with the help of the super glue. Pull the chain through the opening and there you have it.

DIY Candy Christmas Cardstock Tree

DIY-gift-Christmas-trees
Small decorative Christmas trees are hard to find, especially when everybody is shopping for the finest ones in preparation for the holidays. Instead of shopping, make one instead this year. Be inspired by this example of Candy Christmas Cardstock Tree to design your own special decoration. Blend the homemade cardstock tree with some delicious candies to fill the faces of kids and grown-ups alike with joy. They will give you that complex look when they’re actually easy to make. Here is what you need:
• candy (of course!);
• stamp;
• red and green ink;
• green, chocolate and red cardstock;
• 1/4″ stitched ribbon;
• liquid glue;
• Sticky Strip;
• clear envelopes;
First, you have to cut a 10-1/8 x 2 inch piece of green cardstock. Score on the long side at 3-¼”, 6-½” and 9-¾”, and on the short side score at 1”. Using liquid glue along the length of strip, fold the strip in half (lengthwise as well) and burnish the strip. Use the score lines as guide for your next fold. Pour some liquid glue onto the tab end. Make a triangle from the ends of the piece. You now have the frame of the tree.
For the inside, begin with an 11x2inch piece of green cardstock. Use the same procedure from the first piece at all the inch marks (1”, 2”, 3” etc.) Cut this piece first in half length from the 1” mark, and then one of the resulting strips at the 4” mark. From the now 3 one-inch strips 4inch, 7inch and 11inch long, fold the longest one into a strip of triangles, just like in the images. After you finished this process for every piece, fit them in the tree frame. Place some candy in the spaces (branches) of the tree. Tie the whole structure with an 18inch length of grosgrain.
For the tree trunk, start with a piece of 5-3/4 x 2 inch chocolate cardstock. Score at 1”, 2-3/8”, 3-3/8” and 4-3/4”, on the long side, and at 1” on the short side. Put liquid glue lengthwise along the strip. Fold in half lengthwise and with the same method used before for the tree, fold on the other score marks and adhere to shape into a rectangle. Stick some scotch tape on the edges of the rectangle and remove them when you pasted the tree on the trunk. Put some candy in the trunk as well.
Your really adorable Christmas tree is now finished. With a height of 4inches and a width of 3-1/4 inches, you can place it anywhere in the room; from tables to window sill. Finish decorating whatever you’d like to. You could pack it in an envelope, to make sure the candy doesn’t fall when you gift it. And why could at just one piece of Candy Christmas Cardstock Tree? Make yourself a whole forest of this delicious decoration!

Barbi skirt toturial

In my last post I promised that I would show you how to do the barbie cake I made for my daughters 4th birthday. Unfortunately it looks like I'm only going to be able to show you how to do the skirt part and you will have to use your imagination and my written directions for the bodice. About a month ago I dropped my camera :(. Now it seems as though it is slowly dying on me. More about that later though.

Barbie Cake

First I started out with 4- 6" cakes (yes I know there are only 3, lol, just imagine all of them are there :).
